A woman with blood-red hair and pale skin waits at the doorway to the Greenhouse.
"Greetings all of you. I am Assitant Headmistress Connor, or Professor Connor if you prefer. Now some of you are my advanced students, and you will in fact be having classes here in the Greenhouse, but for the rest of you newbies, this is just a grand tour. I thought you might like to see what you will one day be doing. If you live long enough that is." Her mismatched eyes fix onto each first year student, seeming to glow. "This is the only time you will be going into the Greenhouse this year. There are plants in here that could kill you before you took a full breath." She smiled. "Let's go in, shall we?"
She pushes open the door and precedes them inside the warmth of the Greenhouse. There are a few sunlamps scattered around to add some extra light. It seems a jungle of plants, many of which you had never seen before. "Hello my Beauties," the professor purrs to the plants. If you didn't know better, you'd swear they moved towards her. "Don't touch anything and stay on the yellow path. It leads us straight through. The Green is for fourth year and higher students when they come to class, and the red is for final year students only. These plants in the first section are relatively harmless. Mostly irritants such as poison ivy, but used in the right manner by the right person, they can accomplish your goals."
She leads you through a clear plastic barrier to another section of the greenhouse. "These are your everyday poisonous plants, oleander, rosary peas, castor beans but all in relatively small doses can kill the average human. You'll notice that the colors of the plants in this room are brighter. There's a reason for that, but we'll get into it another time. Ladies you may have noticed the misteltoe in the corner. It's fatal if eaten, keep that inmind when it comes to the holidays. Let's push on."
She leads you straight through another barrier, this one green rather than clear. "These are the animate plants. You'll notice the path is wider, please stay in the very center of it. If these babies feel threatened, they'll hurt you in anyway they can. From throwing darts, to spitting venom, they are the ultimate fighters in the botanical world. You may have noticed on the placards near each plant that they say that not all of them originated here on Earth. That's because they didn't. We are fortunate enough to house some of the deadliest plants in this universe. Most of which can't be seen on this particular path, because you aren't qualified, but they are here. I've yet to get some from another demension, but it's being negotiated."
She turned to face you at another door. "That concludes my tour. I hope I managed to intrigue a few of you. Perhaps engaged your curiousity enough to stick to my classes until you too can work with these plants. Thank you for coming, I believe you all have other classes to get to now." She smiled again. You notice the blue flower now in her hair. You could have sworn that it hadn't been there before you'd come into the animate plant section. As you file past you glance at it again, but Professor Connor catches your eye, and you hurry onward.
